The InspireU Well-being team had the opportunity to attend the Virtual School Conference, where they were deeply moved by Fatima Whitbread’s incredible journey through the care system.

Fatima, a world-class athlete, shared her powerful story of resilience and triumph, illustrating how she overcame numerous challenges from birth. Now an advocate for young people in care, she uses her platform to inspire and champion for change. Her narrative was not just one of struggle, but also of the profound impact that supportive individuals had on her life.

Her message resonated with everyone present, inspiring us all to become part of a young person's success story. We learned that the positive experiences we create can be the foundation for a young person to excel.

Generously, Fatima spent time with each of us, answering questions and allowing us to hold her well-deserved medals. Her story was a beacon of hope and inspiration, reminding us of the power of compassion and the incredible potential within every young person.

The conference was a remarkable gathering of minds and hearts, dedicated to the growth and well-being of our youth. As well as the inspirational journey of Fatima Whitbread, the words of Mark Finnis stood out, resonating deeply with everyone in attendance. With a fervour that was both captivating and motivating, he shed light on the profound impact of restorative practices in education.

Mark's emphasis was clear: the relationships we build with young people are the cornerstone of their development. Beyond the pursuit of academic targets, he reminded us of the irreplaceable value of compassion, empathy, and love in our educational approach.

Thank you to the Virtual School for the day and giving us an amazing opportunity to meet 2 amazing guest speakers, it will be a day we won’t forget.
