InspireU Lincoln hosts careers event celebrating learner achievements
InspireU Lincoln held its annual careers event on 4 November 2025, welcoming learners from all seven InspireU sites across Lincolnshire.
The day brought together a wide range of employers, training providers and education partners who shared advice, opportunities and guidance with our learners.
This year we were pleased to be joined by:
- Choices College
- DWP
- Balfour Beatty
- Happy Hooves
- Lincoln College
- Gelder Group
- Liaise
- Lincoln City Football Club and Foundation
- Hill Holt Wood
- Young Voices
- Access Creative College
- Siemens Energy
- Barclays
We are incredibly grateful for the support of all these organisations. Their continued involvement makes this event a key moment in our calendar each year. Feedback following the event was fantastic, with both learners and employers commenting on how valuable the day had been.
Alex Baven, Director of Growth at Lincoln City Foundation, said:
“How polite, confident and enthusiastic the learners were. They showed a real willingness to listen and ask questions. We are delighted to support these events and are working closely with the team to develop opportunities to support the learners.”
Learners also shared positive feedback, including:
“There were a wide range of employers and something for everyone.”
Plans are already underway for next year’s careers event, and we are aiming to make it even bigger and better.
Following the careers event, InspireU Lincoln held its annual learner celebration, recognising outstanding progress and achievement over the past year.
We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment that allows learners to showcase their talents, build confidence and develop the skills they need for their next steps.
We extend a special thank you to Lincoln City Football Club for sponsoring the celebration and providing an extra reward for our winners, who will attend an upcoming home game. The ongoing support from the club and Foundation means so much to our learners and our community.
This year we celebrated six learners for their exceptional achievements:
- Special Achievement Award – Keeley Shepherdson
- Volunteer of the Year Award – Ben Ring
- Above and Beyond Award – Ashton Smith
- Teamwork Award – Oliver Davis
- Unsung Hero Award – Amelia Ives
- Rising Star Award – Aiden Wythe
Each of these learners has shown dedication, passion and resilience throughout the year, and everyone at InspireU is incredibly proud of their journeys into volunteering, paid work and our Sprint supported internship programme.
We are already looking forward to the next InspireU careers event and learner celebration, which will be held at InspireU Skegness.
