InspireU football match delivers thrills at Lincoln City’s Stadium
Annual event celebrates community, competition and the legacy of Peter Brown.
The InspireU Football Match returned to Lincoln City Football Stadium, bringing excitement and joy to all involved. This annual fixture, held at the home of the newly crowned League 1 Champions, has become a major highlight for the InspireU community.
This match is dedicated to the memory of Peter Brown, a much missed English. Adding a heartfelt touch, Peter’s daughter attended as a special guest and presented medals, along with the Peter Brown Trophy, to the winning team.
The match featured the InspireU Football Team, regular league competitors, against the InspireU Allstars - an energetic side comprising learners from seven InspireU sites and staff members. The Allstars clinched a dramatic 7-5 victory in a pulsating contest, with Tyler’s remarkable six-goal performance earning him the Player of the Match award.
From the opening whistle to the final celebrations, the event radiated positivity and unity. Players from diverse backgrounds came together, embodying the spirit of inclusion and teamwork that InspireU champions. The crowd’s energy, the pride of playing at Lincoln City’s stadium and the emotional tribute to Peter Brown made it a day to remember.
