InspireU signs off the season in style at St George’s Park
The InspireU football season came to a close with our final tournament of the year — and what a fantastic place to finish: St George’s Park, the home of England’s national football teams.
We were incredibly proud to take 10 learners to the national pan-disability football tournament, where they competed against colleges from across the country.
For many of our InspireU learners, this was an opportunity they may never have imagined having - to be part of a team, represent their provision and play on such a special stage.
When we talk about what inclusion truly means, moments like this capture it perfectly. While the results were mixed, they were not the most important part of the day. What mattered most was seeing the joy, confidence and pride on the learners’ faces. They were an absolute delight to take and they did themselves and InspireU, proud.
It is amazing to reflect on how far the InspireU football team has come over the last few years - from borrowing a kit, to now having our own kit, coaches’ jackets (thanks to our fantastic sponsors James Dixon of Bluestone Tree and Arb Services) and the chance to play at St George’s Park.
None of this would have been possible without the support, encouragement and commitment of our staff. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the football team this year. It was a very special day, full of happy memories that will stay with our learners and staff for a long time.
