Gelder Group Haunted Walk
Over the past few weeks, our learners have been working with the Gelder Group to help create their Haunted Walk in the Woods event.
The attraction consists of five themed sections, and InspireU learners have supported the development of three of these, as well as being given responsibility for creating and delivering their own section.
Following discussions with the learners, we decided to create a haunted school theme and, through teamwork and creativity, have brought the idea to life.
Learners have taken part in a wide range of activities, including painting, construction, moving materials, clearing areas and dressing the set. So far, seven learners have participated, all demonstrating fantastic effort, commitment and teamwork throughout the project.
Two learners have impressed the Gelder Group so much that they have been offered an additional opportunity to become further involved in the project.
Learners back at college have also contributed by creating signs, props and costumes, as well as sourcing and shopping for materials.
This has been a real team effort across InspireU and a fantastic collaborative experience with the Gelder Group, providing learners with valuable employability skills, workplace experience and the opportunity to be part of a large-scale community project.
