Student council
Meetings, resolutions and services
The student council shall meet:
- every four weeks on a day agreed with members
- no less than six times in each academic year (for example, meet half termly)
The meetings shall be open to all students and staff who may wish to attend as observers.
The agenda and minutes of the previous meeting shall be published to all students. This will be three college days in advance of student council meetings on the InspireU website.
If a member of the SC is absent from three consecutive meetings, they will be required to justify the absence at the next meeting. The rest of the SC then has the right to decide, by majority vote, whether to ask that particular member to stand down from the student council.
A designated staff member shall be a member of the student council and will attend every meeting.
Student council resolutions and services
Resolutions of the student council shall be by simple majority vote of the student members present only. The chairperson or deputy chairperson shall have the casting vote.
No student will be disadvantaged in access to services provided by the SC or the college by reason of not having exercised their right to vote in the elections.
Complaints
Please refer to InspireU complaints policy and procedures.
